Collaroy is a suburb in northern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Collaroy is 22 kilometres north-east of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of Warringah council. It is part of the Northern Beaches region.

History: This area was originally part of Narrabeen but was renamed after the collier s.s collaroy ran aground on the beach in 1881 during a storm. it was refloated and later wreced on the California coast in 1889. Most of development has accurred since the mid twentieth century.

Collaroy Beach Post Office opended on 12 Februaly 1923. Collaroy Plateu Post Office opened on 1 April 1949 and closed in 1988. Collaroy Plateau West Post Office opened on 1 November 1967 and was renamed Collaroy Plateu in 1996.

Barrenjoey is a locality in the suburb of Palm Beach, at the most nothern tip of Pittwater. The headland is mostly made up of hawwkesbury sandstone which overlays Narrabeen shale. Around 10,000years ago the headland was cut off from the mainland due to the rising sea level; subequent buildup of a sand spit or tombolo reconnected the island to the mainland (a 'tied island'). it is the location of the Barrenjoey Head Lighthouse, a lighthouse that was first lit in 1881.

The Blue Mountains National Park is a protected national park that is located in the Blue Mountains region of New South Wales, in eastern Australia. The 267,954-hectare (662,130-acre) national Park is situated approximatetely 80 kilometres (50 mi) west of Sydney, and the park boundary is quite irregular as it is broken up by roads, urban areas and inholiding. Despite the name 'mountains', the area is ans uplifted plateuau dissected by a number of larges rivers. The highst point in the park is Mount Werong at 1,215 metres (3,986 ft) above sea level; while the low point is on the Nepean River at 20 metres (66 ft) above sea level as it leaves the park.

The national park is one of the sight protected areas that, in 2000, was inscribed to forn part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Greater Blue Mountains Area.

The Blue Mountains National Park is the most central of the eight protected areas within the World Heritage Site and it forms part of the Great Dividing Range. The park is also listed on the Australian Heritage Register and the overall complex of Blue Mountains regional walking tracks is listed on the State Heritages Register.

The highest point in the Blue Mountains, as it is now defined, is an unnamed point with an elevation of 1,189 m (3,901 ft) seve kilometres north-east of Lithgow. However, the highest point in the broader region once considered to be the Blue Mountains is Mount Bindo, elevation 1,362 m (4,469 ft). A large part of the Blue Mountains is incorporated into the Greater Blue Mountains Area World Heritage Site, consisting of seven national park areas and a conservation reserve.

The Blue Mountain area includes the local government areas of the City of Blue Mountains, the City of Hawkesbury, the City of Lithgow and Oberon Shire.
